Step ONE






First off, you'll download and install the product you've just ordered in a spot on your computer where you can find it later.  Most use C:\Program Files as their default installation directory.

Once you open it up, the first window you'll see is similar to the one at the right.  My comments are in yellow boxes - they are not in the software itself.

Basically the software tells you want to do every step of the way and then lets you preview your creation before you ever generate code.  You can go back and make changes and re-preview, too.

Very cool.











The arrows just show you the places you'll be filling in according to your own particular specifications.



Step TWO












The next step you undertake is explained in the picture to the left.  So far, pretty simple.









So far so good... you're hanging with me just fine.  You choose where you want it to appear on the page you're working with.

You choose the number of spins and in what direction you want them to go and the number of seconds involved in the spins - just experiment and see what you like best using the preview button.

You can re-do and preview as much as you like.

This part is pretty important, as you don't want to annoy or chase off your visitors.  So... choose wisely.



Step FIVE








This is where you will copy (and paste into your webpage)  the code you just created to your specifications using the software.
 Code Insertion 1 of 1 

Insert the following code just above the closing BODY tag (</body>) on your web page.


If you prefer to have less code appear directly on your web page, you can load most of this code via an external .js file. To do so, simply copy the above code that appears between the opening and closing SCRIPT tags (<script> </script>)...just below the DIV tag code. Then save the javascript code in a separate file by itself.

The filename can be any name of your choice and should end with a .js file extension. Example: spinningpopup.js

Then insert the following code right below the DIV code (<div> ... </div>).



NOTE: Be sure to upload the .js file to your site's server. The .js filename within the quotes should be either the full or relative web page location of the .js file where you stored the code.





Here are the OPTIONS you will also be able to engage in with Spin-Pop-Gen if you so desire:


Link & Form Targets: (Optional)

The Spinning Popup Content URL loads inside of an iframe window, so whenever someone clicks on a link or submits a form within the web page for the Spinning Popup Content URL, the resulting page will load inside the iframe unless you add a target to the link or form tag to open the resulting page outside of the iframe.

For example, if you have a link/form that you want to open in the current full browser window, add the following to your link/form tag: target="_top". If you have a link/form that you want to open in a new window, add the following to your link/form tag: target="_blank" or target="target_name_of_your_choice".




TIP For Transparent Spinning Popup Content URL: (Optional)

If you would like the background color of the page for the Spinning Popup Content URL to be transparent, add the following code within the opening BODY tag (<body>) of the web page that you have set as the Spinning Popup Content URL.



[NOTE: If you already have a style tag within the opening BODY tag of the page, just add the background-color:transparent; portion to the style parameters.]




Code To Close Spinning Popup: (Optional)

If you'd like to include a Close Link within the page of the Spinning Popup Content URL, simply insert the code below wherever you want the Close Link to appear. You can replace the word "Close" with any text of your choice. You can also edit the appearance of the link so that it appears in the style of your choice.



And finally, just a few "FYI" Notes where the software is concerned.


Upon first opening the software, you'll notice a bunch of extraneous stuff inside... (see illustration to the right) and unless you are interested in customizing your copy of the software, it is just stuff to be ignored as far as the software's actual use.  It does not affect the software's functionality at all.

Spinning Popup Generator is 'brandable' with your links, just follow the ones Derrick has entered on the lower part of the software and pay this talented developer his fee and you can have your own links all through the software you sell as a reseller.  [[Note the blue underlined words Your Link Title #2 Goes Here over to the right in my illustration... it could be your own affiliate link if you choose Derrick's branding option.]]

Anyway, I sure hope that this helps someone figure out how to use the software and how really simple Derrick has tried to make the process.

One final comment:  DO NOT USE WYSIWYG Composers to edit your code into your webpages or it will probably not work.  I had to fix my errors in notepad after I screwed them up royally doing just what I said above.  We learn by doing, right?  Enjoy the software!
